Awarding Body Approval Process

Upon receipt of a completed Enquiry Form you will be informed of the Regulation Manager (RM) and Accreditation Manager (AM) who have been assigned responsibility for reviewing your application.

The assigned RM and AM will then provide you with feedback on your enquiry form and may request further details. Once we are happy that you meet our regulatory requirements you will be asked to submit forms AC1 for Awarding Body approval and AC2 for Qualification Accreditation.

At this stage, the RM and AM may consider whether or not it would be appropriate to conduct a pre-approval visit to ensure that appropriate governance and operational processes are in place.

You will be informed once the RM and AM are satisfied that the submitted approval application is ready to be presented to the Accreditation Co-ordination Group (ACG) for approval. Your application will then be presented to ACG within six working weeks.

We will send you formal confirmation of the ACG decision on your application on the same day that the meeting takes place. You should be aware that the awarding body approval application will be deferred if ACG decides not to accredit the proposed qualification.
